Wintjiri Wiru and Field of Light
Story: More lights! Wintjiri Wiru and Field of Light
Presenter: Stevie Jacobs & Trevor Cochrane
Stevie and Trevor experience Wintjiri Wiru, the world's largest drone show above Uluru.
- Wintjiri Wiru features the world's largest daily drone show, with 1,100 drones taking flight each night above Uluru, telling an ancient Anangu story through cutting-edge technology.
- The story belongs to the Anangu, and Elders have guided every element—voice, song, color, shape, and movement—ensuring the cultural integrity of this immersive experience.
- The experience includes canapés highlighting Indigenous and native ingredients, such as gin-soaked cucumbers with green ants, crocodile curry pie, and emu sliders, paired with Beachtree cocktails and Penfolds wine.
- Field of Light, created by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro, is now in its eighth year, extended indefinitely due to demand, and covers an area the size of seven football fields with 50,000 spindles of light.
- The installation, called Tili Wiru Tjuta Nyakunytjaku in Pitjantjatjara, meaning “looking at lots of beautiful lights,” invites guests to immerse themselves in a stunning illuminated landscape.
- Guests can experience Wintjiri Wiru through various show options, including sunset dinners, twilight sessions, and after-dark views, each offering a unique connection to the culture and stories of Uluru.
- The technical execution of the show is advanced, featuring a custom drone airport, sophisticated software, and top-tier drone technology to create this mesmerizing display.
