• Kelheim is a lovely little town nestled within the mountains and hills of Bavarian Germany, situated at the confluence of both the Danube and Altmuhl rivers.
• One advantage of river cruising is that the ship docks right in the city – guests are able to hop off and walk straight into town.
• Be sure to check out the traditional German bakery Café am Donautor. This café is run by 3 generations of a family, and is known for their authentic German gingerbread.
• Kelheim is famous for its treats, with the chocolate shop Chocomanie being another stop you have to check out.
• Chocomaine has been in Kelheim for 7 years, with owner Anna Sollner taking over from her parents. Their signature piece is the cappuccino cup.
• Be sure to walk the streets of Kelheim – it’s a beautiful town and well worth the visit.
